Little Caesars (South Westnedge)
Not every night can be a fancy dinner.
My overtime shift kept me pretty close to home last Friday night. I just had to go to Portage for a couple of hours. Not a bad deal except I don’t get to explore when it comes to dinner.
I wanted to keep things a little bit cheaper and I wanted something quick. I was really really close to just going to McDonalds but at the last minute I thought of something else. It wasn’t much better but at least I could get two meals out of it.
The Little Ceasears on South Westnedge in Portage opened up earlier this year as a replacement for the one further north on Westnedge that was torn down to make way for the Raising Cane’s. This new location is just south of a McDonalds and just north of the intersection with Romence Road. This whole building was an O’Reilly Auto Parts at one time. It was later converted in to multiple store fronts. One end is a RnR Tire Express. The other half, which used to be a Medical Express, is cut up again and Little Ceasars takes part of that building right next to the tire shop.

The only way to do Little Caesars is to order online. They might still do the $5 Hot ‘n Ready but just….don’t. Don’t do it. It’s the worst pizza they have if they actually have any ready.
The large round pizzas from Little Caesars are garbage. If I’m going to order Little Caesars and my kids aren’t eating it with me, I always order the Detroit style crust. I did the 3-Meat Treat, added on a couple of cups of garlic butter dipping sauce and a 20 oz. Pepsi. The total was a little more than I wanted to spend at $18 but it’s still way better than a tasteless $5 pizza.
The store is pretty small as they don’t need a ton of space for these Little Caesars restaurants. The Pizza Portal is off to the left when you walk in. I pulled out my phone and scanned the code. The little window opened and I grabbed my pizza. The pop cooler was right next to it so I grabbed a Pepsi on the way out then headed to my car to get to my job site to eat.

I ordered the 3-Meat Treat Detroit Style pizza. The three meats are pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. Little Caesars makes their Detroit style pizzas so every slice is a corner. There are eight slices in total. My plan was to eat three or four and save the rest for Saturday morning. Cold pizza is the best weekend breakfast.

Little Caesars is more about quick mass produced food than it is about quality pizza. This pizza is still pretty tasty though. When I do order Little Caesars out of either convenience or budgetary concerns, this is my usual go-to. There are nice little crispy bits around the edges and enough meat to get some in each bite. It’s noting to rave about but it gets the job done.

I’ve said it about Little Caesars before and I’ll say it again. It is what it is. It’s cheap pizza and that’s so hard to find these days. It’s not the best pizza you’re ever going to put in your mouth but it is at least a consistent product with a price that makes it hard to pass up some days. This location on Westnedge and Romence adds another quick option for dinner that you can easily pick up while running errands or shopping nearby.
