Does anyone else have to go “Needoh hunting?”

If you don’t have kids, I’m sure you have no idea what a Needoh is. Lucky you.

They’re stress toys. They’re essentially stress balls and if I’m being honest, they’re actually pretty fun to play with.

Finding them is impossible though. Lines form outside the Big Box stores every morning in hopes there was a new shipment. Small toy stores post them on their Facebook pages and they sell out quickly. It’s like trying to find a He-Man or a Cabbage Patch Kid. when I was a kid.

B has a bag full of Needoh’s but there’s still an adrenaline rush to actually finding them in the store so we keep looking.

We noticed a shop in Three Rivers occasionally posts about getting them. This past Saturday, J noticed a post and asked B if he wanted to take a chance driving to Three Rivers to see if they had any left. The post was about an hour old when he spotted it so there was no guarantee they’d still have some.

Forget Me Not is a small boutique on the west side of Three Rivers. The shop is in a shopping plaza on US-131 north of Broadway Street on the east side of the highway. It’s a pretty non-descript building with five other shops.

The business is kind of a hybrid toy shop/party decorations store/ice cream shop. They do some event planning but the store itself is more about whimsy and is filled with all kind of sensory toys.

There’s a whole wall of just squish toys. We were too late for the Needoh’s. The last one was being sold as we walked in, but the drive wasn’t a total bust, J and B both found a couple of squish toys that weren’t Needoh’s that they really liked so they still ended up with something.

The store also has a really big selection of freeze dried fruits and candy hanging on a display above the squish toys.

Part of the reason J thought taking this trip would be fun whether they had Needoh’s or not was because they also have soft serve ice cream that they top with the freeze dried candies. Once the two of them figured out what squish toys they were going to get, they headed to the counter and started looking over the soft serve menu.

The lady behind the counter asked B if he liked sweet or sour. He said both so she made him a soft serve cup topped with sour worms and freeze dried Skittles. He loves both of those candies and spent the first few minutes just picking them off before eating the ice cream.

J picked the Peach Ring selection off the menu. Her soft serve in a cup was topped with freeze dried peach rings. The presentation itself was really fun and she really liked the candy on the ice cream. Her mom saw a picture of this bowl and we started making plans to go back to Forget Me Not just so she could one.

Forget Me Not is a cool shop that we probably never would have heard of if it wasn’t for the Needoh’s. They only do the ice cream during the warm months but it’s back for the summer now and it’s something different than what you can get at the big soft serve places just down the road on US-131. This place is definitely one of those IYKYK type places.
